A high profile organisation are urgently currently seeking a Public Affairs Manager for an initial 3 month period with the potential for it to be extended or going permanent.

A high profile position, the role will involve promoting and enhancing the reputation of the organisation with industry, parliamentarians and key policymakers in Westminster and Whitehall.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of the external communications strategy;
  • Taking the lead on the development and execution of an external engagement programme with industry and parliamentary stakeholders;
  • Developing relationships with firms, trade associations, regulators and other partner organisations.
  • Building a profile of the organisation with parliamentarians, legislators and regulators across the UK and in the devolved nations;
  • Working across the organisation to ensure a consistency of approach to all stakeholder engagement.

To be considered, candidates will demonstrate an extensive professional background in public affairs.  Experience from an industry perspective is essential (public affairs agency, in-house, trade association etc…).

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • An excellent understanding of Westminster, devolved Parliaments and EU institutions;
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing public policy on industry and commerce issues;
  • A strong knowledge of retail financial services markets, regulation and consumer issues and public policy (ideal);
  • Demonstrable experience of influencing senior stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
