As a Stakeholder Engagement Advisor at HS2, you will assist in the management of our stakeholder relationships in order to support the development and deposit of the Phase 2 (proposed route North from Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds) hybrid bill. In this role you will plan and deliver the engagement programme with affected local authorities, major asset owners and technical stakeholders all the way through to individual community members.

About the role:

  • Assist in the development of the stakeholder engagement strategy and management plans;
  • Deliver the engagement plan to ensure stakeholders are aware of the project, often dealing with complex, confidential and politically sensitive material;
  • Manage stakeholder relationships on a day to day basis to develop a strong understanding of the regional and local needs;
  • Organise and facilitate stakeholder meetings;
  • Maintain records of engagement, follow up on all actions and correspondence;
  • Prepare briefing materials and represent the HS2 Ltd at senior external meetings;
  • Draft responses to relevant FOI’s and stakeholder correspondence.

About You:

  • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders at different levels;
  • Proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary technical team to deliver against objectives;
  • Demonstrable organisation and project management skills to deliver activities within tight time periods;
  • Highly literate with strong communication skills and an ability to translate complex technical information;
  • Knowledge and understanding of major infrastructure projects and the required development process;
  • It is expected that you will actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.

Please note this role requires regular travel to regional areas affected by the route, as well as out-of-office hours engagement activities.
