This popular half-day session gives you the bigger political picture and looks at how you can maximise the impact of your public affairs activity ahead of the General Election.
What will be the key political drivers and policies to emerge and where will the political battle lines be drawn? We look at the likely policy priorities in each party and how best to influence the manifesto process. The session will help you to horizon scan as well as examine the new pressures faced by MPs and PPCs – from social media to local campaigns – and assess the best ways to get your voice heard.
This course is designed for public affairs professionals who want to refresh their knowledge, challenge their practices, explore new ideas, and sharpen their skills. We will be joined by political pollsters ComRes, who will set out the latest political polls and add their expert insight.
This session will:
- Place your public affairs goals in context with the current political opinion polls. Led by ComRes
- Consider the issues that will shape political debate in the run up to May 2015, including the impact of the 2014 Scottish referendum
- Look at what the future holds for Parliament, Government and civil service
- Give you top tips on how best to engage with PPCs and MPs
- Assess the impact of the social media age on engaging and influencing politicians
- Refresh and strengthen your public affairs strategy
