Do you need to know how Parliament really works? To either track bills of interest, build up your awareness of supportive Members of Parliament or foster better relations with MPs? Or do you simply need to know how procedure operates in order to launch a campaign on a specific issue within Parliament? Then why not attend the Basic Parliamentary Procedure course.

Unlike other courses available, this course focuses primarily on providing the audience with key information on how to influence, that will enable them to engage confidently, this political institution. The course established in 2002 has trained hundreds of internal personnel who use the information available as a first step on how the parliamentary systems works and how Parliaments day to day business and procedure can impact on their organisations agendas and activity.

So whether you are a parliamentary officer, secretary in your public affairs department, PA to the head of external affairs, or a policy officer who needs to have a better understanding of how the Commons or the Lords deals with Legislation, this is an ideal introductory course for you.

The course also contains practical guidance on how to draft and promote EDMs and Parliamentary Questions as well as including a talk given by a serving MP on the best ways to gain the support from and develop close working relations with Backbench MPs.
