Spearker: Paul Grant - Training Consultant
Paul was a civil servant in the UK Government from 1986-2012. For 20 years of that time he worked as a senior lecturer in Policy and Government at the National School of Government. He now works as an independent trainer, providing consultancy and training in the UK framework of government, working with ministers and policy skills.
At the School Paul designed and ran a range of training courses on various aspects of the UK system of government. A particular focus of his training was to provide new fast stream entrants to the Civil Service a thorough understanding of their new working environment.
Paul has a particular interest in constitutional and parliamentary matters. As well as running training programmes in the UK for organisations both inside and outside of government, he has also undertaken many training assignments across the world for both the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and for the Department for International Development. Since the closure of the National School, Paul has continued to provide much of this training as a self-employed trainer.
