Connect are experts in the legislative process and our award-winning campaigns are testament to our success.

As a new government pushes through its legislative agenda it is vital to know how the parliament process works so you can have maximum impact as the Bill makes its progress.

Connect’s consultants will guide you through the detail of primary legislation offering practical advice on how to:

  • lobby a Bill at every stage – pre-legislative scrutiny, First Reading, Second Reading through to Royal Assent
  • make your organisation’s voice heard
  • understand the Bills timescales and crucial moments
  • use parliamentary procedures and tactics such as Statutory Instruments or Early Day Motions to increase your influence with MPs

This is a great course for those new to public affairs or those who need a refresher on the technical details.

Delivered by:

  • Charles Pitt, Account Director, has over a decade’s experience in Westminster and Whitehall working for Conservative Minister, in the House of Commons and as an activist in local and party leadership elections.
  • Rob Dale, Senior Account Manager, has worked in Westminster for over six years and is the author of How to be a Parliamentary Researcher.
