 By the end of the day delegates will have:

  • learned techniques for taking accurate, clear notes at meetings
  • discussed ways to solve common problems
  • practised note taking and writing up minutes

This course will be facilitated by Amanda Bausor, Training Consultant

Amanda is an experienced trainer in the following areas of written communication: report writing; minute writing; grammar and briefing for parliamentary business including ministerial correspondence. She works with specialists such as economists, statisticians and scientists on communicating complex and technical information clearly to non-specialists including ministers. She designs tailored writing programmes for government departments and the private sector. One programme she has co-written has a ‘Recommended by the Plain English Campaign’ accreditation.

Amanda Bausor worked for the Department of Health in various management, advisory, and decision-making roles. She then followed her interest in writing and training and is now an independent training consultant. She was an Associate of the National School of Government for 18 years and has worked with many government departments and agencies in the UK and abroad. Some of her projects include working with the Prime Minister’s Correspondence Unit; work with the military and international work in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Africa. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
