‘I believe, people are seeing the galvanising effect this drive for a green, low-carbon, sustainable society is having on the economy. Because this is not just about powering the country and protecting the planet. This is about prosperity too. This is about Green Growth.’

Rt Hon Edward Davey MP, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change

In recent years we have seen a shift in attitudes towards the future of our energy supply and the importance of embracing newer and more cutting edge energy sources in the future. With oil and gas reserves in decline we must address energy security to ensure we have a secure and sustainable source of energy for future generations. Although dwindling supplies of oil and gas may seem problematic, it can also be a source of opportunity as we look to invest in low carbon technologies to support the creation of renewable and clean sources of energy.

With these key issues in mind, Policy Knowledge is proud to present our Future of Energy Briefing, a forum for discussion and debate on:

  • Investing in Low Carbon technologies
  • Supporting households to cut energy bills
  • Market reform and accountability
  • Meeting the targets in the Energy Bill
  • Obtaining the skills required to meet our energy challenges
  • Leading from the front – Reducing energy usage in the public sector

Speakers:

  • Jenny Saunders OBE - Chief Executive, National Energy Action
  • Laura McGillivray - Chief Executive, Norwich City Council
  • Rupert Fausset - Principal Sustainability Advisor, Forum for the Future
