With the passing of the UK lobbying bill, recent Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee inquiry into lobbying and parliamentary debate, the YCC and APPC felt this was an appropriate time to host a discussion on the public affairs industry in Scotland.

The evening would see introductory remarks from the chair before opening statements from each speaker. The chair will then ask a number of questions before inviting questions from the floor. The speakers who will make up the panel are:

  • Stewart Stevenson MSP, Convener of the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee
  • Peter Duncan, Chair, APPC Scotland
  • Juliet Swann, Campaigns and Research Officer, Electoral Reform Society Scotland
  • John Downie, Director of Public Affairs, Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations

The event will be open to YCC members, other APPC consultants, public affairs practitioners, journalists, MSPs and parliamentary staff.

We would encourage you to join us at the PubAffairs Scotland Christmas Party supported by newsdirect and ASPA which is being held in Hemma Bar. For full details and to RSVP please click here.
