Jennifer Gerber, former Special Adviser to Andy Burnham, has joined PLMR as a Senior Political Adviser.

She will further strengthen PLMR’s award-winning public affairs practice and provide senior strategic political and media counsel to clients, adding unparalleled insights and understanding of the new Burnham Government. PLMR’s roster of political advisers span Labour, Conservative and Reform. PLMR is a Top 50 UK agency and an accredited B Corp.

Jennifer has been at the heart of Labour Westminster politics for more than 20 years in a number of high-profile leadership and advisory roles.

During the last Labour government, she was a Special Adviser to Andy Burnham across three cabinet portfolios, providing strategic advice at HM Treasury, the Department of Health, and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Jennifer has political experience across multiple other sectors, including education, social care, energy and renewables, transport, infrastructure and technology.

In recent years, she has provided strategic political, policy, and media counsel, working on some of the highest profile issues in Britain – including advising top NHS Trusts during Covid-19.

In addition, she headed the parliamentary campaign group Labour Friends of Israel for more than a decade, and also previously led the prominent centre-left think tank, Progress.

Jennifer Gerber said: “I am incredibly excited to have joined PLMR, an agency I have long admired. I look forward to supporting their clients across a number of sectors in understanding the new Burnham government and what it could mean for them."

“In PLMR Kevin Craig has created an agency that combines industry-leading work on behalf of its clients with a commitment to doing business well, both as an employer and as a company. I look forward to bringing my experience in government to our brilliant roster of clients, and support PLMR’s next chapter as it grows and develops its business.”

Kevin Craig, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PLMR, said: “I am delighted that Jennifer has joined the PLMR team. Her unrivalled, decades-long experience at the heart of Labour politics and her superb cross-sector track record in government and the private sector will be invaluable to our clients as we advise them how to navigate a new government and a new Prime Minister – someone Jen knows as well as anyone.”
