VRM Advisory is a public and government relations firm specialising in the defence, security and aerospace industry. We work on every facet of our clients’ business, from initial communications strategy to government engagement, policy drafting and narrative shaping, ensuring that their company’s voice cuts through the noise to customers, industry partners and wider stakeholders.

At VRM Advisory we work with some of the world's most exciting, fastest-growing defence firms. We pride ourselves on not just reacting to news cycles but shaping and creating them. We use our knowledge and network to work with clients, media and HMG to provide the best outcomes for our Armed Forces and allied security.

What we are looking for:

  • Set the strategic direction for client accounts and take ownership of delivery against agreed objectives;
  • Act as a senior point of contact and strategic counsel to clients;
  • Develop and deliver integrated communications, media and government relations campaigns;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across media, industry, government and Parliament;
  • Lead engagement with relevant government departments and political audiences;
  • Produce and oversee high-quality written work, including messaging, briefings, policy papers, media materials and senior correspondence;
  • Manage and develop junior team members, ensuring consistently high standards of delivery;
  • Take responsibility for client satisfaction, retention and account growth;
  • Contribute to new business and the continued development of VRM as the firm grows.

Experience in defence is not essential, but an understanding of how international policy, media and Parliament interact to change narratives, alongside support for the UK Armed Forces, is. The right candidate will also be naturally proactive, actively seeking the right opportunities for our clients, bringing new ideas and opportunities to the table every day.

Skill, experience and qualifications required:

  • Significant experience in political and/or media facing roles;
  • Meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to client counsel and delivery;
  • Excellent political judgement and the ability to give clear, confident advice to senior clients;
  • Experience working in UK public and government relations;
  • Knowledge of UK Parliament and government;
  • Understanding of US politics.
