The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

We are recruiting for an Account Executive. Candidates should have proven work experience. This could include working for a politician or in a public affairs or communications role or within a government department or regulator. Experience of communications would also be useful.

Account Executives provide the research and insight on which our advice to clients and our strategies are built. They will be hardworking, self-motivated and have a good understanding of politics and the news agenda.

Key responsibilities:

  • Researching and preparing briefings on high-profile, complex issues;
  • Monitoring the policy landscape;
  • Providing organisational support for account managers and teams;
  • Using technology to support high quality, timely work for clients;
  • Advising clients as part of an account team;
  • Supporting with events management.

Essential capabilities:

  • Proven experience in politics, public policy, public affairs or media relations;
  • Political insights and understanding of the government’s agenda;
  • Strong research skills including use of technology for speed and accuracy;
  • Self-motivated and confident to use initiative;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint; proficient in Excel also desirable.
