We are looking for an excellent candidate to join our growing Public Affairs team. You must have prior experience of working within the housing and/or regeneration sectors, while possessing a deep understanding of the British political system. You will also have the opportunity to advise clients operating across the energy, financial services and innovation sectors. You will serve as the main point of contact with clients and will help to manage and grow our existing Policy Liaison Groups (PLGs), where College Green Group acts as the secretariat. You will be focused on delivering results in line with contractual agreements, within allocated timeframes and budgets.
Primary responsibilities
- Lead and deliver public affairs strategies for clients across the built environment, energy, financial services and/or innovation sectors;
- Management of Policy Liaison Group on Housing Delivery & Growth;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the UK political landscape, with a particular focus on the Labour Party;
- Monitor and interpret political, parliamentary and policy developments to inform client work and new business opportunities;
- Develop compelling briefings, position papers and other research and advocacy materials;
- Provide senior-level advice and guidance to clients, ensuring activity aligns with their objectives;
- Manage client/PLG budgets, account plans and reporting;
- Networking, with a view to building the College Green Group brand, reputation and relational reach;
- Content creation to support wider marketing efforts for College Green Group;
- Organise PLG events (including AGMs and roundtables, both virtual and in person);
- Any other duties as reasonably required by a member of the SMT.
About you
- Demonstrable public affairs experience with a strong track record in the housing and regeneration sectors;
- Additional experience in sectors such as energy, innovation or related policy areas would be a bonus;
- A close network of contacts across the political spectrum, particularly within the Labour Party;
- Excellent understanding of the UK political and parliamentary process;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, with meticulous attention to detail;
- High level of commercial awareness;
- Experience of line management is preferred, although not essential;
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills, competencies and capabilities;
- Proactivity in creating opportunities for College Green Group to grow and develop;
- Demonstrating a desire to be a team player, and to help other colleagues achieve success;
