Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support our public affairs team in driving stakeholder and community support and managing communications for a number of notable, mixed-use regeneration projects.

While an understanding of politics is very valuable, this role’s main focus is around people and relationship building. As our clients’ proposals involve making changes to local communities’ built environments, the ability to develop the best possible working relationships with all stakeholders, such as councillors, businesses, residents etc., is vital.

Essential skills

  • Proven experience in a similar public affairs and / or communications role;
  • An ability to drive forward the development of good working relationships with a range of stakeholders;
  • Have and maintain an active interest in current affairs; financial, governmental and societal;
  • An interest in the varying aspects of real estate, destination marketing and place making and inquisitive about the wider news agenda;
  • A proactive and efficient approach to organising and driving forward engagement events – both in-person or online – good time management and problem solving are key.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be confident and approachable – a talker, but more importantly a listener -  with a proactive desire to drive forward sensitive projects;
  • Be keen to develop an understanding of other parts of Redwood’s business such as media relations, corporate communications and social media;
  • Foster and interact with our valued clients and industry contacts, while not essential, individuals who wish to develop their contact book in the real estate sector, network and invest their energy into relationship development is desirable;
  • Have a desire to grow as part of our team, be adaptable and responsible to feedback;
  • Have an Interest in constantly exploring new ways of engaging and taking advantage of new technologies;
  • Demonstrate appetite to progress and become a valued part of a team-focused business, with a desire to learn and develop skills in wider communications disciplines.
