The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) is the new industry association which represents betting shops, online betting and gaming and casinos. Its mission is to champion industry standards in betting and gaming to ensure an enjoyable, fair and safe betting and gaming experience for all customers.

We are seeking a Communications and Government Relations Manager to help deliver services and support the organisation’s work programme to raise standards and ensure that government, parliament and stakeholders are engaged in our work.

The Manager will report directly to the Director of Communications and Government Relations. The Manager will be directly responsible for the following:

  • To coordinate, respond to and engage on government, Gambling Commission and stakeholders on behalf of the Director and BGC;
  • To manage the political monitoring, press service and any digital support tools to assist the entire BGC team with keeping up to date on news and information;
  • To ensure that issues that affect the industry are identified, prioritised and dealt with in a timely manner;
  • To represent the BGC at UK and events/conferences;
  • To support the team to showcase policy initiatives and statements with the press, media and stakeholders.

Requirements of the position are the following:

  • Knowledge of the gambling industry preferred but not essential;
  • Understanding of parliamentary procedure and policies;
  • Strong communications skills including experience with the media;
  • Good event organisation skills;
  • Good experience with digital and social media.

The Manager position is an employed position with a salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
