Job Description

  • focusing on regulatory and legal policy development and implementation processes in the EU;
  • leading on the full project lifecycle, including tender preparation, for impact assessments, studies and/or evaluations according to EU Better Regulation guidelines, including design of consultation and data collection strategies and implementing such activities (interviews, surveys, workshops, conferences);
  • policy/economic analysis (CBA, analysis of efficiency and effectiveness);
  • project management - leading relevant projects for public sector clients;
  • applying social research methods (including excellent qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis skills);
  • stakeholder engagement;
  • public tendering;
  • manage pipeline and tender selection.

The Successful Applicant

  • Substantial experience within policy consultancy, focusing on regulatory and legal policy development and implementation processes in the EU;
  • A proven track record of leading on the full project lifecycle, including tender preparation, for impact assessments, studies and/or evaluations according to EU Better Regulation guidelines, including design of consultation and data collection strategies and implementing such activities (interviews, surveys, workshops, conferences) as well as policy/economic analysis (CBA, analysis of efficiency and effectiveness);
  • Project management skills and experience of leading relevant projects for public sector clients;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and proven ability to deliver consultancy reports to the European Commission;
  • Have experience with any of the following EU policy areas: consumer protection, health and safety at work, labour market, social inclusion and human rights, civil and criminal justice systems;
  • Experience of applying social research methods (including excellent qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis skills);
  • Demonstrable skills in stakeholder engagement;
  • Strong experience of successful public tendering;
  • People management experience;
  • Experience of managing pipeline and tender selection;
  • Strong links and networks within industry, the public sector and/or academia (desirable); and
  • One or more EU languages besides English (desirable).
