The Role
If you love politics, and enjoy working in a fast paced but detail focused environment, we want to hear from you. This role will support the External Affairs Manager and Director of Policy & Research to deliver Best for Britain's policy agenda in the run-up to the next General Election.
As part of the External Affairs team you will have the opportunity to meet with key figures in Parliament and senior stakeholders in Best for Britain’s network. You will build on existing relationships, create new links with relevant groups and individuals and gain exposure to some of the most pressing political issues as they evolve.
You will arrange meetings and support the production of briefings and research materials, including the use of cutting-edge polling data. You will be involved in key projects including the UK Trade and Business Commission and Best for Britain’s work on Bills and Legislation. Attention to detail and being highly organised are critical, together with a can-do attitude and enjoyment of being a team player.

Core responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of key projects including polling, the UK Trade and Business Commission and our work scrutinising Bills and Legislation
- Assisting with the organisation and administration of meetings and events, including taking minutes
- Supporting meetings with a wide range of stakeholders, including parliamentarians and external organisations
- Carrying out research to support the production of briefings and reports including for parliamentarians
- Producing research material and other deliverables of the team
- Drafting internal and external communications
- Maintaining and updating websites and CRM software tools
Person Specification
Essential
- A keen interest in politics, current affairs and how the UK Parliament works
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources
- Confident with numbers and presenting data
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to produce accurate work while working to challenging deadlines
- Experience in website editing
- Highly organised with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, but able to take initiative and work independently
- Reliable, resilient and able to juggle multiple priorities
- Eligible to work in the UK
