Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Sandbag is a UK-based, not-for-profit think tank with a reputation for evidence-based, data-driven research and advocacy. We campaign for environmentally effective climate policies in the EU and in legislative bodies in European Member States.

Our current research focus includes reform of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme; phase-out of old coal in Europe; deep decarbonisation of industry through technologies including Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage; minimising stranded assets and climate risk in finance; and increasing ambition on the EU 2020 and 2030 climate & energy packages.

The role would suit a recent graduate looking for experience working in a policy, campaigns or advocacy role.

The role will involve:

  • Working closely with Sandbag's Climate and Finance Policy Officer;
  • Working on a new campaign focusing on the Bank of England Bill;
  • Helping to organise events;
  • Helping to write communications materials;
  • Some research and analysis;
  • Some administrative tasks.

Person specification:

  • An interest in UK politics and current affairs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good organisational skills;
  • Flexible approach and willingness to carry out a wide range of tasks;
  • Happy to work as part of a small team;
  • A desire to change the world by changing its laws.

This role is available on a six month contract, working 3 days per week.
