We are looking for a Policy Adviser that is searching for varied, challenging and engaging work across diverse issues facing the insurance industry. By joining our Conduct Regulation team, you will work with a broad range of stakeholders in order to shape UK and EU conduct regulation of the insurance industry that allow insurers to grow and innovate.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Formulate and communicate persuasive policy positions, supported by robust evidence, that promote the interests of insurers in relation to conduct regulation issues;
  • Lead and contribute to policy development work with members, including providing proactive and efficient secretariat to working groups/committees and seeking input from across the industry;
  • Actively develop and maintain effective and influential relationships across a broad range of stakeholders including member companies, FCA, Financial Services Practitioner Panel, EU regulators and decision-makers, Government, other trade associations and consumer organisations.

About you:

To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you will need to have, or have demonstrated the ability to quickly acquire:

  • Interest in understanding the Insurance industry, including how businesses and markets work, and how they are regulated;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to develop clear and concise messages;
  • Excellent analytical skills and an evidence-based approach to policy making, decision making, and problem solving;
  • Ability to understand and anticipate a regulator’s needs and approach, and to match industry response to that;
  • It is highly desirable that you have experience in or an understanding of UK and/or EU legislative, political and regulatory environments.
