Join the ABI as a Policy Adviser within our General Insurance team and you’ll get to work on the development of policy relevant to cyber and specialist lines Insurance products. In this exciting role, you will build an expert understanding of the policy and regulatory environment effecting cyber and specialist lines insurance products (travel, trade credit, pet) and will develop excellent working relationships with the ABI’s key stakeholders including our Member Firms, Regulators and the London Market.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Formulate and communicate persuasive policy positions, supported by robust evidence for the benefit of the insurance industry and consumers;
- Lead and contribute to policy development work with ABI members via Committees and working groups;
- React to developments in Government policy or the media that may impact on cyber, travel, trade credit or pet insurance and help insurers navigate these issues effectively;
- Advance and monitor the changing public policy issues that emerge as the UK cyber insurance market grows and develops.
About you:
To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you will have the following:
- Strong ability to develop an understanding of new and nascent policy areas with attention to detail and the capacity to influence and understand complex policy environments;
- Effective communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders;
- Excellent lobbying skills, including the ability to influence senior people in member firms, Government, regulators and elsewhere;
- It is highly desirable that you will have experience and understanding of the financial services sector and knowledge of UK and EU legislative, political and regulatory environments, including the workings of Parliament.
