Leeds University Union (LUU) is a charity that helps over 38,000 students Love their time at Leeds. Located at the heart of campus, the Union is a space to meet people, make new friends and get involved.

The role of Policy & Campaigns Coordinator is an exciting opportunity to work with students who want to make change, run campaigns and stand in elections. You’ll work within the Political Engagement Team who take a lead on campaigning, liberation and representation of students from across campus, and support other teams across Leeds University Union to connect our work to Clubs & Societies, the academic experience and the wider Leeds community. It will allow you to see and support a participative and deliberative democracy (that’s completely unlike traditional political structures!). It will be a great opportunity for you to develop your project management, training delivery, communication and recruitment skills.

Tasks will include delivering our sector leading policy process, the Better Forums. The Better Forums are how students create policy to guide LUU, and your role works to ensure they are democratic, inclusive and participative. You’ll also support our Student Executive Officer election, LeadLUU, as we work to increase student turnout as well as increase and diversify student engagement. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with student leaders, including those from liberation and marginalised backgrounds; supporting them on campaigns, events and with workshops and training.
