Job Description

  • Management and implementation of the E&AJ programme in conjunction with the Head of E&AJ;
  • Representing the E&AJ agenda & deputising for the Head of E&AJ internally and externally;
  • Effective project management of and contributing to E&AJ projects;
  • Departments are correctly advised on technical aspects of the E&D agenda;
  • Managing and delivering E&AJ engagement events, including focus groups, discussion seminars and workshops that inform and support the E&AJ work programme;
  • Overseeing E&AJ policy consultations and drafting responses for external and internal consultations;
  • Assisting teams in the implementation and embedding of their E&D duties, in particular with equality impact analyses (EIA);
  • Ensure the EIA processes is effectively managed and complies with the Public Sector Equality Duty, including quality assurance of EIAs prior to publication.

The Successful Applicant

  • Managing equality and diversity in a regulatory, professional, voluntary or comparable sector;
  • Experience of communicating to a high standard orally and in writing;
  • Experience of drafting a range of materials for a variety of audiences including consultation papers, reports, Board and Committee papers, briefings and articles;
  • Working within an agreed annual budget;
  • Developing and overseeing equality and diversity;
  • Ability to analyse statistical data and draw accurate conclusions;
  • Working with and developing equality and diversity networks;
  • Good presentation skills;
  • Management of an equality impact analysis process and supporting their embedding of across an organisation;
  • Managing internal and external projects and undertaking programme administration;
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience.
