Do you want to work at the heart of heritage, and help to champion its future? The Heritage Alliance is seeking a part-time Policy Officer to join our small advocacy team at an exciting time for the sector. The role will support with all elements of our research, policy development and political engagement. This role would be ideally suited to someone looking to gain experience in the heritage sector who has a keen interest in the UK policy and political landscape.

The Heritage Alliance is the national umbrella body for heritage, a charity with over 200 organisational members.

Key priorities for 2027 include advocating for heritage through the government’s devolution and

Applicants should be persuasive writers and communicators, have a passion for advocacy and policy, strong analytical skills, and the ability to deliver at pace. Whilst a demonstrable interest in heritage is important, direct experience is not essential.

  • Drafting letters, briefings and consultation responses for government and parliament as needed;
  • Co-ordinating, minuting and actioning the work of the Alliance’s Advocacy and Working Groups in liaison with their Chairs;
