Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a national youth charity that runs a growing network of inspirational, purpose-built youth centres providing centre-based youth work in disadvantaged communities.

As Public Affairs lead you will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong reputation and influence with policymakers, partners and stakeholders to position the charity's youth work as an essential part of the national conversation and policy landscape.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of core public affairs activity aligned to existing priorities;
  • A structured review of the charity's medium and long-term public affairs and policy approach.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in UK public affairs and policy, ideally within youth, education or social policy;
  • Relevant experience conducting reviews or shaping future policy/public affairs approaches;
  • The ability to understand central and local government, including how policy is developed and influenced;
  • Confidence in supporting senior stakeholders, including CEOs.

The ideal candidate is someone who can operate at pace, understands the youth policy landscape,and can move confidently between delivery and strategy.

Six month contract.
