The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

What we are looking for

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced consultancy environment;
  • An understanding of the media and experience of working with journalists across trade, regional and national outlets;
  • A good copywriter, capable of writing across a range of formats and channels;
  • An interest in current affairs and politics;
  • A hunger to learn, an enthusiastic attitude and an open mind;
  • A desire to work at pace, learn by osmosis from industry experts, and deliver consistently high-quality work;
  • An eye for detail and accuracy;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A creative mindset .

What you’ll need to do

Be a key member of the team, supporting Account Managers and Directors in the delivery and development of exceptional services to ensure client and Group objectives are met. You will be developing commercial expertise and wider project management skills which will support career progression. 

  • Support the wider team on the planning and delivery of corporate communications and public affairs campaigns and engagement programmes;
  • Write press releases and op-eds, presenting good quality, accurate articles with attention to detail;
  • Attend client meetings, deputising for Account Managers when required;
  • Undertake media, political and stakeholder research and provide insight that can help shape campaigns;
  • Draft concise and accurate communications including social media content planners, client monitoring reports, briefing notes and correspondence to various stakeholders;
  • Identify and support new business opportunities;
  • Build a network of business, media and political contacts;
  • Contribute to the marketing efforts of the team and wider business.
