The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

What we are looking for

You will have a political, media or communications background, with experience operating in this field. You may have agency experience, although this isn’t a requirement.  We’re looking for someone who work within a high performing team in a commercial environment.

  • Have a good understanding of how the various levels of government work at both local and national levels
  • Communicate well with strong writing and inter-personal skills
  • Maintaining and growing a portfolio of key clients
  • Team management, supporting the development of junior team members and future growth plans
  • Demonstrate drive, commitment and a focus to producing work of the highest standard
  • Excellent workload management and a good team player.

What you’ll need to do

A key member of the team utilising your commercial awareness and project management skills in the delivery of exceptional communications and engagement services to your clients in the planning and development sector.  

You are at the heart of the account and the client relationship, delegating work appropriately to Executives effectively managing upwards to your Directors.

Your specific duties will include:

  • Ensuring the effective delivery of projects within your portfolio
  • Advising on and executing effective communication strategies on time and within budget
  • Liaising with the media, politicians and community groups
  • Supporting new business proposals and presentations
  • Attending client meetings
  • Responsibility for the organisation of public exhibitions and stakeholder events, political and stakeholder research, drafting of letters, press releases, newsletters and exhibition boards and maintenance of accurate databases
  • Building client relationships and identifying opportunities to deliver additional support
  • Managing Account Executives and Account Managers within your project teams
  • Contribute to the marketing efforts of the team and wider business.
