The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), the leading Association for Business Aviation in Europe protects the interests of more than two hundred and fifty Business Aviation Companies operating over 500 aircraft. EBAA promotes and supports Business Aviation as an essential sector of Air Transport, serving the Economy and Society.

The EBAA is looking for a Senior Manager European Affairs:

The growth of Business Aviation, its prospects in the mid- to long-term, and the fast evolving air transport environment in Europe and beyond are all having a decisive impact on the workload of the Association and its Secretariat. One of the three direct reports to the CEO, the Senior Manager European Affairs is expected to assume and drive a varying number of aero political dossiers and projects, whilst at the same time lead, and be responsible for, the aero political team.

Job description

The Senior Manager European Affairs will:

  • Report to the CEO on questions related to political affairs; in particular, (s)he will be responsible to ensure that his/her dossiers are being driven in an appropriate way, and that goals and objectives are met;
  • Ensures that the team (s)he is responsible for is fulfilling its own objectives and executing its respective dossiers; (s)he conveys and ensures the follow-up between the team and the CEO;
  • Propose and where appropriate implement strategies aimed at influencing European institutions and international aviation organisations;
  • Play a coordination role with other Aviation Associations and trade bodies with the aim to establish, whenever feasible, a united front vis-à-vis natural recipients (governments, EU institutions, etc.), be it in Europe or internationally;
  • Provide periodic and comprehensive information to EBAA Members on matters relevant to his/her portfolio;
  • Represent the Association at various platforms, both European and international. In particular, the Senior Manager will liaise with such associations as IBAC, NBAA, and a few other regional associations. ?

Profile

The Senior Manager European Affairs will:

  • Have an excellent understanding of European Policy on air transport;
  • Possess a thorough appraisal of the functioning of the EU institutions, and notably the ?European Commission, the European Parliament, and EASA;
  • Have significant years of relevant professional experience;
  • Be a natural communicator, and feel at ease speaking in public;
  • Speak and write fluently English with good French or German capabilities an asset;
  • Be open minded and show willingness to travel world-wide.
