Society of London Theatre (SOLT) and the UK Theatre Association (UK Theatre) are organisations that work with and on behalf of our Members to champion theatre, promote the performing arts and strengthen the theatre community.

Our Members include producers, theatre owners and managers who present shows in major commercial and grant-aided theatres, both in the capital and across the UK.

We are now looking for a Data Analytics & Insights Officer to join us on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

As a Data Analytics & Insights Officer, you will be responsible for the collection, analysis and management of data for our organisation.

Analysing and interpreting data, you’ll identify salient trends and themes and communicate your findings in concise and accessible language to both internal and external stakeholders. You’ll use your findings to inform our business planning, policy development, lobbying and advocacy through public affairs and workforce strategic development.

You’ll be the main point of contact for data enquiries and assist in the development and implementation of the Evidence Centre, our new data collection system. 

Additionally, you will:

  • Collate sales and audience data reports;
  • Respond to internal and external requests for data and insight;
  • Maintain updated information sheets;
  • Support colleagues in translating and delivering data required for external stakeholders;
  • Monitor the demographics of our membership, Boards and staff;
  • Identify new sources of data from less obvious sources;
  • Ensure the accuracy and security of all sales and audience data collection.

About You

To be considered as a Data Analytics & Insights Officer, you will need:

  • Demonstrable experience in a highly numerate role, e.g., finance or sales;
  • Experience of producing detailed reporting and analytics underpinned with clear business commentary;
  • The ability to convert data from various sources into clear, concise and accessible insights;
  • The ability to identify incomplete or inaccurate data sets, identifying issues which may affect the accuracy of any analysis performed;
  • The ability to create data visualisations, in the form of graphs, charts and infographics;
  • Strong excel skills;
  • A degree or an equivalent qualification or experience.
