Join the Network

We have a fantastic opportunity for a solutions-focused Head of Public Affairs (Scotland) to join our Edinburgh office for a minimum 9 month fixed-term maternity cover. This can be on a full-time or part-time (4 days a week) arrangement.

We are the consumer champion with a mission to make consumers as powerful as the organisations they deal with. Our campaigning efforts have been behind some of the biggest positive changes for consumer’s lives in recent years. From nuisance calls, to misleading prices, unfair energy tariffs, and online scams, we are fighting to make change happen.

This challenging but exciting position will continue to develop our engagement campaign in Scotland.

What you’ll be doing

As Head of Public Affairs you will be working autonomously to develop and deliver key consumer campaigns in Scotland. From identifying proposals that will impact consumers, to responding to key debates on consumer issues, you’ll represent Scottish consumers and raise our visibility as the consumer voice across the UK.

You’ll network, engage and influence key decision makers, ensuring that our policy and campaigns gain traction. You’ll work closely with our Campaigns and Policy teams to identify engagement opportunities, and drive forward our change agenda through policy and parliamentary legislation.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, with experience within Scottish politics, ideally in a consumer landscape. You’ll have Public Affairs experience, working at a strategic level, and evidence of delivering profile-raising opportunities. You’ll utilise your excellent networking, influencing and stakeholder management skills to engage with key decision makers.

This is a sole and independently placed role in Edinburgh, so we need you to be a self-starter and solutions focused, however you will receive support and direction from our Campaigns and Policy teams in London, and liaise closely with relevant and diverse teams across the business.

What you’ll get in return

Our rewards package is one of the best out there. You’ll get 28 days’ annual leave, an interest-free season ticket loan, life assurance, and a generous pension scheme. You can work every day knowing that you’re playing your part in making consumers as powerful as the organisations they deal with.
