At Barnardo’s we believe in children. Our purpose is to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children and our vision is to realise Thomas Barnardo’s dream of a world where no child is turned away from the help that they need.

Barnardo’s has a strong track record in successfully changing government policy and legislation. Using evidence based policy and outstanding influencing skills, you’ll build on these achievements and ensure that Barnardo’s continues to effectively lobby for change for the benefit of children, young people and their families.

Experience of lobbying to amend legislation and a strong understanding of Parliamentary processes will be essential. You’ll also have proven communication, drafting and negotiating skills and the ability to forge strong relationships and provide strategic advice to a broad range of senior stakeholders. Equally important is proven experience of speechwriting with a good understanding of speeches and how they fit into communication plans.

Based: Head Office, Barkingside, Essex (Greater London), with some flexibility to work from a hot desking office in Central London.
