One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, The Salvation Army is looking for a proactive and committed Policy Adviser to join its Public Affairs team.
The Salvation Army is a Christian church and registered charity with an extensive social remit, providing a range of social and community services, including those for people experiencing homelessness, addictions, frailty in old age, unemployment and poverty.
In this key Policy Adviser role you will ensure effective policy advice across key client groups, resulting in effective lobbying to meet the Public Affairs objectives and ethos of The Salvation Army.
You will:
- Plan and manage a programme of effective policy advice and research with the support of two Policy Analysts;
- Ensure that effective policy asks are formulated and targeted to achieve social justice;
- Deliver a personal portfolio of advice on unemployment and social security.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- A track record of policy advice that meets organisational objectives;
- Excellent knowledge of the policy making process;
- Credibility with key influencers.
