The Railway Industry Association (RIA) is the trade association which represents the interests of UK railway suppliers and campaigns on their behalf for a world class and growing railway sector.
We are seeking a Policy Manager to support the Policy Director in identifying and conducting policy work to both address the key issues affecting our members and to provide high quality materials in support of our public affairs and PR activity.
Applicants must have experience in a fast-moving policy background, the ability to draft proactive policy papers and comprehensive responses to complex consultations and the organisational skills to set up, and sometimes help run, key RIA strategic group meetings. You will also be expected to represent RIA at events and meetings involving senior political, commercial and strategic personnel in various rail sector organisations, as well as RIA’s member companies and other rail stakeholders.
A background in transport or rail would be useful but is not essential.
