Covid 19 has had a huge impact on the UK’s hospitality and leisure sectors with businesses being forced to close for months. These sectors represented approximately 9% of UK GVA heading into the crisis and helping them bounce back quickly once it is safe to reopen services will be critical to kickstarting the UK’s economic recovery.

On Wednesday 24th February, 10-11am, join WA’s Marc Woolfson to discuss these issues and hear from our expert panel who will each be sharing their perspectives and experiences:

  • Steve Double MP, Member of Parliament for St Austell and Newquay and chair of the Hospitality and Tourism APPG;
  • Jonathan Neame, Chief Executive of Shepherd Neame brewery;
  • Poppy Trowbrige, former Special Adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

In the short-term, we’ll be looking at how long government support can remain in place.

In the medium-term, at how we can transition back to normality and what measures are needed to ensure a long-term recovery plan.

In the long-term, at what impact the crisis will have on consumer behaviour, and how industry should respond.
