Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

We’re currently recruiting for two new Political Analysts to join our team. Would you like to join a growing, dynamic team reporting on UK politics, and engaging every day with some of the UK’s largest businesses and organisations?

Responsibilities

  • Reading and analysing relevant political content to build daily client briefings and alerts
  • Reviewing select committee and debate summaries produced by our part-time researchers
  • Producing tailored biographies of politicians and conducting ad-hoc research on a variety of topics
  • Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships through daily communication and weekly calls

We’re looking for somebody with:

  • Degree or higher – The role is likely to suit graduates in subjects such as Politics, English or History
  • Excellent analytical skills – You will be required to analyse large amounts of information quickly so an attention to detail and ability to select and record key pieces of information are required
  • Reliability and time-management – You will need good time management skills
  • Strong interest in politics – The role requires a real interest in the UK’s changing political climate and desire to gain a deep knowledge of parliamentary procedure
  • Flexibility – The role includes regular early starts and will require flexibility in working hours, including periodic short work on a Sunday
  • Excellent IT skills – Successful candidates will be able to touch-type and be adept at using a range of standard software
  • Teamwork skills – The role includes producing work in a collaborative manner, and successful candidates will need good communication skills with both the team and clients

Navigate Politics provide political monitoring services to some of the biggest companies in the UK who trust us to deliver high quality briefings, at times to suit them, through our advanced, human-led service. We are recruiting for one new Political Analyst to support work for clients in the aerospace and defence industries, and a second Political Analyst to support our clients in the Finance, Retail, Energy and Environment industries.

The role is primarily office-based, but there is an opportunity to work from home for 2-3 days a week, to be decided at the company’s discretion.
