The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

We are looking to grow the team and looking for an experienced Public Affairs (PA) professional to be part of our exciting and award winning team. The role will involve working on a varied portfolio of clients, across multiple industry sectors. Our clients require proactive engagement and strategic thought and will provide extensive opportunities to work on major and complex political issues.

Our PA team sits within our combined PA, Corporate and Financial Services Practice. Consisting of 25 people we are bring together expertise from party politics, political campaigns, the corridors of Whitehall – together industry experts and people who know how to use all channels to communicate with our target audiences.

We won the Holmes Report EMEA Public Affairs Agency of the Year in 2012 and our London PA team won the EMEA Public Affairs campaign.

We provide expert knowledge, insight and analysis on Westminster and Whitehall but also recognise that politics is global and we work with our colleagues from Washington DC to Brussels to Beijing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and tactical political advice to a portfolio of high profile clients;
  • Develop recommendations, ideas, and strategic responses to client situations with internal account teams;
  • Develop new business leads and assist with the implementation of client key stakeholder programmes;
  • Be an ambassador for the company at and actively seek opportunities to network by participating in relevant events and forums;
  • Inspire, mentor and motivate junior team members;
  • Initiate ideas for marketing activities.

Experience Required:

  • Public affairs professional with agency/in-house/political experience and a proven track record in client relationship management;
  • An in-depth understanding of the workings of the political and policy environment;
  • Ability to analyse legislation and its impact on stakeholders;
  • Strong media contacts across national media, particularly in tier 1 business;
  • Experience negotiating client challenges and resolving to client/agency’s satisfaction;
  • Demonstrates first-class presentation and inter-personal skills;
  • Skilled at mentoring and developing junior members of the team;
  • Eligibility to work in the UK is a must.
