The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

What are we looking for?

We currently have an exciting vacancy for an experienced Stakeholder and Communications Consultant to join our team; responsible for developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications strategies that effectively communicate complex technical information to a wide range of stakeholders. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop messaging that resonates with local communities and help our clients achieve their business objectives. Client management and stakeholder relations will also be part of your role. This involves working closely with  local authorities, community groups, the media and industry associations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement stakeholder engagement and communications strategies for clients in the built environment, local authorities, transport, and infrastructure sectors;
  • Create messaging that effectively communicates complex technical information to a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on stakeholder engagement and communications issues;
  • Manage and coordinate stakeholder engagement events, digital communications and media campaigns including workshops and public consultations;
  • Develop and execute digital communications strategies, including social media campaigns and email newsletters;
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of stakeholder engagement and communications strategies and make recommendations for improvement;
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices and apply them to the development of our various stakeholder engagement and communications programs.

More about you.

  • University graduate ideally in politics, communications, public relations, or a related field;
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and communications, with a focus on the built environment, local authorities, transport, and infrastructure sectors;
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data and draw insights that inform stakeholder engagement and communications strategies;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful stakeholder engagement and communications strategies;
  • Strong knowledge of digital communications strategies and tools, such as social media, email marketing, and website development;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
