IHPN is the membership network for independent healthcare providers across the UK. We play a leading role in the sector by bringing independent providers together, representing their interests, and supporting them to deliver great care to patients.

The COVID-19 response has highlighted the crucial role played by independent healthcare providers in the UK health system. As we move beyond the initial COVID-19 peak the challenge now is to return services to normal levels for both private and NHS patients. IHPN will be playing an important role in helping the sector meet this challenge, alongside our regular services and support for members.

We are seeking to appoint a new Director of Regulation. This senior post within the small IHPN team will play a key role in leading and shaping the sector’s regulatory engagement. This includes, but is not limited to, the CQC, PHE, NHSE, GMC, Royal Colleges, and devolved administrations.

Your role will be to work with our members to drive a compelling programme of regulatory engagement, focusing on ensuring that the right regulatory framework is in place across the sector and supporting members to achieve the highest standards in safety and quality. This will include driving forward work in clinical governance and information sharing in the context of the Paterson Inquiry recommendations.

We are looking for someone who can engage effectively at Board level and be a subject matter expert in regulatory affairs across the whole range of providers that make up the IHPN membership. You will have advanced leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and programme delivery skills as well as expertise in UK healthcare regulation.

The Director of Regulation is a member of the IHPN Senior Management Team and reports directly into the Chief Executive. You will make a major contribution to the broader leadership and management of IHPN and be passionate about delivering successfully for members.
