The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is growing a team of exceptional individuals to deliver our vision for an inclusive, globally competitive city region at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse. This is an exciting time for us, having successfully negotiated and secured a Devolution Agreement with Government and elected the City Region’s first ever Metro Mayor.

The Liverpool City Region’s science and innovation assets and capabilities are world class. From IBM’s Watson platform and the STFC Hartree Centre super computer at SciTech Daresbury, to the Materials Innovation Factory cofounded by University of Liverpool and Unilever, and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in Knowledge Quarter Liverpool. Our City Region has a rich history of pioneering innovation and creativity and we are determined to be at the forefront of the next industrial revolution.

This post is responsible for driving our approach to innovation, shaping the development and delivery of major projects and collaborating with key anchor institutions to support commercialisation across a largely SME business base. The role sits within the wider policy team and will work closely with colleagues initially to develop and implement our Local Industrial Strategy, and then working with colleagues, partners and stakeholders within the organisation, and throughout the City Region to deliver real change.

The successful candidate will be able to see the opportunities to add value and maximise the links between different policy topics. They will be confident working with senior external stakeholders, including politicians and officers from Local Authorities, businesses and other public sector organisations, to develop shared objectives and implement collective projects.
