Dementia has a devastating impact on individuals, their families and society, at a cost of £34.7bn a year. Through our policy work, we are going to change that. As the UK’s largest dementia charity, the Alzheimer’s Society has thrown its weight behind achieving the policies that people living with dementia urgently need. This role is pivotal to making that happen.
You will have a critical role in deciding what the Alzheimer’s Society thinks about issues that impact on people living with dementia, identifying the changes need, and mobilising the rest of the organisation to bring about those changes.
You will manage a team of policy officers to help with this, commissioning robust evidence and creating compelling arguments to convince decision-makers of the need for action. You will build close collaborative relationships with individuals within the Government, healthcare systems, and the voluntary sector to make sure that we are well-informed and in the best position to influence.
We would love to welcome more outstanding people to join our exciting journey to make the greatest difference for people affected by dementia. If this sounds like what you’re looking for then what are you waiting for? With new treatments for dementia on the horizon, there has never been a more exciting time to work in dementia policy.
