Reporting to the Director of Government Relations, this is a pivotal role with a highly respected, influential membership organisation whose primary remit is to promote and represent its members’ interests to key stakeholders and policy makers across the UK. Working closely with members to develop and shape policy, you’ll manage public affairs campaigns; identify and build relations with key stakeholders and policy makers including Parliamentarians, Civil Servants, regulators, trade bodies and partner organisations amongst others; produce briefings and consultation responses; and provide senior level counsel to leading industry figures. Additional responsibilities will include running the organisation’s annual political conference and the sector APPG.
Experienced in policy and public affairs, and with a track record in delivering successful engagement programmes, you’ll bring a keen understanding of the political, policy making and regulatory environment coupled with existing networks across the political spectrum. Both creative and strategic, with the presence and credibility to provide senior level counsel internally and represent the organisation to external stakeholders, you’ll be skilled in engaging with, and influencing, political stakeholders, with strong writing skills and an eye for detail. Experience gained in business policy would be preferable.
