HSBC is looking for an experienced public policy professional to take on the role of manager in its UK public policy team. This is an exciting opportunity at a time when financial services policy has never had a higher profile. HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. We have 10,000 offices in 80 countries and territories in Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.
Reporting to the Head of Public Policy UK, the post holder will work closely with the UK senior management team to support building HSBC's reputation with Government, Parliamentarians and other key opinion formers.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join this team in the role of Public Policy Manager, UK Government Relations.
In this role you will:
- Identify emerging public policy risks, issues, and opportunities and interpreting their business impact;
- Develop and manage the implementation of engagement plans;
- Build relationships with key internal stakeholders and providing support to local HSBC managers as well as build relationships with external stakeholders;
- Prepare and manage senior executive briefing papers;
- Contribute to the successful implementation of UK Public Policy strategy and team objectives.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Significant public policy experience and an excellent understanding of politics and parliamentary affairs;
- An understanding of UK financial services policy would be desirable, but not essential.
