Art Fund is the national fundraising charity for art. They believe that art can make you see, think and feel differently, and through their work, they help make art more accessible to as many visitors as possible, wherever they are.

Art Fund give grants to help museums and galleries acquire works of art for their collections, share them with wide audiences, and support the training and professional development of curators. They are supported by a growing membership of 139,000 through the National Art Pass, as well as the generosity of many trusts, foundations and other individuals.

As an independent charity committed to a vibrant museums sector, Art Fund also work behind the scenes and with partners across the museums sector, government and the creative and cultural industries to further the interests of museums and their collections, the people that care for them, and the millions of museum visitors around the UK. This can mean commissioning and publishing research -  most recently ‘Why Collect? A report on museum collecting today’ by David Cannadine -  developing new grant-making programmes, or campaigning for a change to the law. Notable past successes include lobbying for and working with the Government to secure free admission to UK museums in 2001, and the implementation of the Cultural Gifts Scheme in 2011.

They are looking for a dedicated self-starter with a background in public affairs and policy to support the Director, Director of Programme and Policy and other senior staff in shaping and driving the Art Fund’s policy agenda and developing and managing relationships with MPs and government departments, and across the cultural and creative industries. The successful candidate will have sophisticated political antennae with an eye for detail as well as the ability to see the big picture, and an excellent track record working with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
