Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Southern Water are looking for a talented Stakeholder Engagement Manager to help raise awareness of the significant investment we are making to deliver improved services to our customers, as well the wider economic and social contribution we make to the communities we serve.

The key focus for the role will be to develop and deliver a SMART objectives driven programme of strategic engagement with key community representatives (for example, local MPs, councillors and NGOs) to support the delivery of our strategic priorities and customer promises for 2015-20.

As a Stakeholder Engagement Manager for Southern Water, you will also take the lead in planning and managing the delivery of one or more key strategic engagement programmes across the entire company service area.

The key skills and competencies required for the role are:

  • Excellent influencing skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior external stakeholders, as well as Southern Water Directors and Senior Managers;
  • A strategic thinker, with proven project management expertise;
  • Proven experience in marketing communications / campaign management;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and easy-to-understand way;
  • A high level of resilience, with the ability to work under pressure and deal with sensitive and challenging issues;
  • A high level of integrity and the ability to deal with commercially sensitive information.
