The transport infrastructure on which Britain's business depends is in urgent need of renewal. The rail network requires more capacity and modernisation and, with Heathrow operating at 98% of capacity, decisions are needed on new runways. Within cities the pattern of transport is changing with the growing use of cycles and the increased use of public transport.
As a result, safety and accessibility issues are of growing concern. Overhanging all of these issues is the need to gain planning approval and investment finance to make the necessary changes.
Come and hear Mary Creagh MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, outline her approach and priorities for making progress in boosting our transport infrastructure.
