College Green Group, a specialist public affairs and strategic communications consultancy based in Westminster, is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Herman as Senior Account Manager.

Joining from NorthPoint Strategy, Chris has worked across merging regulatory fields including digital assets, with expertise in translating complex subject matter into practical, relevant considerations for legislators.

Chris brings extensive experience from within the Labour Party, having worked for Gareth Thomas MP for more than seven years. During his time in Parliament, Chris advised on international trade and championed the policies of the Co-operative Party - particularly the role of financial mutuals.
In May 2022, Chris was elected to Croydon Council and now serves as the Shadow Cabinet Member for Streets and Environment, leading the Labour Group on waste, active transport, parking, parks and the borough’s carbon neutral action plan.

Chris’s appointment further strengthens College Green Group’s political insight and its ability to deliver effective public affairs strategies for clients navigating changing political and regulatory landscapes.

Speaking on his appointment, Chris Herman said: “With the Government still early in its parliamentary term, industry has a vital opportunity to demonstrate how it is driving growth and supporting constituents at a time when Labour MPs have significant influence. College Green can help ensure stakeholder messages are not only well-received by parliamentarians but effectively drive progress on key policy challenges.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining College Green Group at such a dynamic point in its journey. I look forward to collaborating with an exceptional public affairs team and delivering positive outcomes for our clients.”

Chris’s move to College Green Group follows the appointments of Andrew Credgington who joined as Lead Digital Campaigner and George Beard who joined as Head of Public Affairs earlier this year.

George commented: "We are thrilled to welcome Chris to College Green Group. His experience of working within national and local government, combined with his understanding of how to engage with policymakers and stakeholders, will be invaluable to our clients. Chris’s appointment reflects our continued growth and commitment to building one of the most effective and innovative public affairs teams in Westminster."
