Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

As Communications Executive, your key responsibility will be to support our Head of Public Relations and the Head of Public and Regulatory Affairs in the day-to-day running of Arqiva's external communications, including close liaison with our external PR agency, internal marketing teams and external PA agency.

Creating a wide range of content, from press releases through blogs to presentations and reports, you’ll monitor the media regularly, provide stakeholders with media evaluation and keep your finger on the political pulse, in addition to working with external research companies.

Other key accountabilities include:

  • Working with our Web content team on the social media strategy;
  • Liaising with our PR agency to stay on top of all relevant industry events and attending them for networking purposes;
  • Campaign creation;
  • Press and parliamentary engagement.

Preferably educated to Degree level, you’ll need a proven track record in PR (ideally B2B) and / or PA, within either an in-house Comms Team or in an agency which encompasses both PR and PA in a complex environment.

With a very high standard of writing to tight deadlines, and all-round communication skills, you’ve the analytical skills to cut through complex issues to see the big picture. Able to work collaboratively to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects, you stay calm under pressure.

  • Flexibility and willingness to be available out-of-hours .

Any experience of broadcasting policy, telecommunications or spectrum issues would be a real bonus.
